Charles Kanichi Hino, age 89, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on May 29, 2013 at Palolo Chinese Home. Born in Honolulu, he was a WWII Army veteran (100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Congressional Gold Medal) and a retired fireman for the U.S. Federal Government. He is survived by sons, Gregory, Jeffrey, Newton (Debra) and Ron (Melissa) Hino; brother, Yoshio (Lena) Hino; sisters, Clara Kamiyama and Michiko (Wallace) Cosma, and five grandchildren. Private services.
