Larry, 71, of Waianae, Hawaii, passed away on Sunday, July 21st, 2013, at the Waianae Comprehensive Health Center. Born January 6, 1942 in Lebanon, Kentucky to C. Gay Hatfield and Eloise (Woodring) Hatfield, he was raised in Louisville, Kentucky together with his two younger brothers. He attended Transylvania University in Lexington, KY and University of Louisville. A Vietnam War veteran, he served in the US Navy as an electronics technician, Patrol Squadron, stationed at Barber's Point Naval Air Station. Larry fell in love with Hawaii, became an avid surfer, and decided to make Makaha, Hawaii his home. He worked at Kaena Point Satellite Tracking Station before his change of career to Real Estate Sales and Management in 1968, eventually founding Hawaii Hatfield Realty Corp. in Waianae, Hawaii, in 1979, incorporating in 1980. He was a member of the National Association of Realtors, Hawaii Association of Realtors, and the Honolulu Board of Realtors. He was also a proud member of the Waianae Coast Rotary Club (past president and Paul Harris Fellow), Waianae Businessmen's Golf Club, United States Golf Association, Navy League, and Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Larry was a devoted and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife Marie M. Hatfield, Esq., son Bradley K. Hatfield (wife Jamie), daughter Sarah Hatfield Galiza (husband Allen), brothers Carroll G. Hatfield (wife Lisa) and Douglas H. Hatfield (wife Laurie), sister-in-law Ann N. Kim (husband Paul), brother-in-law Thomas K. Oshiro, Jr. (wife Pat), and nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Larry's life will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Hosoi Garden Mortuary with visitation from 9:30 a.m. An ocean burial will follow at Makaha Surfing Beach on Tuesday, July 13, 2013, at 8:00 a.m. followed by a memorial golf tribute at Makaha Valley Country Club with donations benefitting the Waianae Scholarship Fund.
